Because of Purepower 3000 power was not enough for my high power ss system then I bought an ABB 18KW UPS.
Both APC and ABB are popular and my friend used APC and the sound of APC was not good and I choosed ABB to test between W...

I long suppposed the whole thing hinged on a sort of dither effect, like the PurePower thingee. And I think this is at least some of what happens with "injection channels", including the root concept of what we are actually discussing in this thread...

Ha! Criminals is going a bit too far, unless you want to call all the audiophile companies criminals. I am not saying that is not the case, but the behavior of PurePower is not different from many other audiophile companies or many other similar busi...

[quote user="steverino"]I am sure you are happy you eventually after years got a Purepower unit after they took yours and "misplaced" it. But if it wasn't for the constant harping on this sorry treatment by you, me and others in these threads who kno...

Hi Romy:After reading your slightly less than flattering portrait of Bob Rapoport, marketing director of PurePower, I felt compelled to have a look into the guy's background. This is so completely priceless! If you follow the link below to the guy's ...

[quote user="Romy the Cat"]That is a whole point: the shape of the sinusoid and consequential harmonic distortions are not being the decisive factor that responsible for better sound. It is sad that neither PP owners nor we the users after years of u...

Thanks, Bill, I do not need it yet. I estimate that I am a good 2-5 weeks away from the time what I might just stat play with my playback at any more or less refined level. Also, I would like as well you to compare your PP2000 with mine, not that I s...

Among the contemporary ion tweeters I heard only with Acapellas, multiple times, never was happy with the results as the tweeters sounded as different drivers to the enter speaker. Also in a past I bought on eBay a number of vintage ion tweeters – th...

Almost all such hum finds its way into your audio signal path through a ground loop, although it is technically possible for AC 50/60 cycle hum to enter from adjacent unshielded power cables. Make sure the AC cable to the phono is well shielded and i...

Romy,I agree with the very nice summary you have made of the situation. You remember that I struggled for a couple years to get PurePower to return my PP2000 which had gone for repairs, but ultimately they replaced it with a PP3000+. I just have to ...

[quote user="drdna"]Do not buy from this company. They took my money with no intention to ever deliver a unit to me. If you find a unit on the shelf in a store and it is functioning, buy that unit and take it home. Don't give Purepower your money up ...

I have owned a PurePower 2000i (prior to the company moving its production back to Canada) and while it had a positive effect on the playback it created more issues than it solved with its noisy switching recharging circuit and the internal fans. The...

I had the same problem with my 6 foot, bass horns , which were built from 3/4 inch high density fiberboard. On doing some measurements back then, it turned out that they were vibrating for a few milliseconds after a pulse, giving a decent rise time b...

Have you ever tried a PUREPOWER device feeding something like the Torus RM20 which has a huge transformer and then out to the components? The Torus stores a lot of energy in those huge transformers. Do you feel this would have any merit...

Hello friends,For long I wanted to address the issues of too few power outlets and improvement of AC quality. I currently use two $10 power strips. I do not have $2000 for APS purepower, so maybe some one can help me start off with the basics. I have...

Dave, thanks for the story. Might I ask you to talk more about the sound of the unit? What kind of equipment you use on it? I do not mean the brand/models but it is SS, tube, type of powers supplies, wattage… etc… Did you do decupling test by switch...
